I'm not too sure the economy is recovering. GDP is negative in the U.S., Germany, Eurozone, Japan. Inflation is going higher in India.

At the moment GDP is negative in many countries (exept China), but even so, investors see that recovery is like to start in Q2 2013. You yourself have written about a predicted rise in copper prices, and the price of oil has also increased. Investors are selling gold because the return on equities and bond are increasing.
